Preservation Experience
This page shows examples of my works related to preservation. These may range from working with the Center for Historic Preservation to Certification for Section 106 basics.
As a class project, a group of students and I traveled to the historic Cumberland Homesteads in Crossville, TN to do an assessment of the property. My partner and I focused on the physical needs and deterioration of the site to create the “Preservation Assessment and Recommendations,” section in The Cumberland Homesteads Museum: A Heritage Development Plan on Pages 10 - 27. This document was published by the Center for the Historic Preservation.

The Farm Architectual Survy draft for a NRHP Submission
As part of a class project I worked on drafting a total of twenty-four entries of the Architectural Survey section of The Farm in Summertown, Tennessee. This was supervised by Dr. Stacey Graham and in conjunction with the Center for Historic Preservation as they work on a submission to the National Register of Historic Places for The Farm.
Clarksville Project
The CHP was contacted for help in trying to find potential resources to the keep the Pre-Civil War Smith-Trahern House open to the public. I help compile a list of possible funding sources that those stewarding over the house could use to help it to remain open.

Nashville Steam
Nashville Steam wanted help creating a set of panels about the Pre-WWII Steam engine No. 576. I drafted the text and helped select pictures for four panels centered around what made No. 576 unique, its importance to Nashville, and trains importance in WWII before being sent to be designed.

Certifications
Over the summer of 2023, I worked to obtain six online certifications from the National Preservation Institute. Four of these certifications are related to gaining a basic understanding of Section 106 and where to find necessary resources when following Section 106 processes. The other two relate to how to find funding resources for projects and a basic understanding of historic wood windows.
